Our Story

The Sea, The Sea is a chef-led fish shop, deli and seafood bar on Chelsea’s Pavilion Rd. We’re a little different to your typical fishmonger. Our team is made up of highly experienced seafood chefs from some of the best restaurants in London and beyond. Our expert team want to share their knowledge of preparing and cooking seafood with you in the hopes it will give you the confidence to cook and experiment more at home.

The shop is an interactive experience where you can buy an incredible range of wet fish and shellfish that’s fresh in every day, discover new recipes, join masterclasses and take home our delicious homemade sauces, stocks and oven ready seafood dishes.

In the evenings our shop transforms into a sit-in seafood and champagne bar where you can enjoy a daily changing menu of small plates, bowls and platters from our executive chef, Leandro Carreira. We also have a regularly updated selection of wines and grower champagnes to enjoy by the glass and bottle.

Our Policies

01 Super Fresh, Every Day

Our produce comes in daily from a number of regional fish markets and fishermen around the UK. Most of our catch is from small day-boats and some of it arrives at the shop within as little as 6 hours of being caught. We don't own a freezer.

02 24 Hour Stock Rotation

We aim to turn around all our fresh stock within one day. If we don’t sell it the day it arrives or use it on our evening menu or it goes into our bespoke dry-ageing cabinet.

03 Sustainably aware

We follow industry guidelines and speak to fishermen daily to keep as up to date as possible with which species are most abundant and sustainable and ensure we never stock anything that is widely considered endangered.

04 Environmentally conscious

We avoid single use plastic as much as possible in our packaging. If you can help us in our quest to become entirely plastic free, please get in touch!

05 Waste not

We believe in nose to tail fish cooking. Talk to our chefs about how to make the most out of the fish you buy.
